An extraordinary late-19th-century J.&G. Meakin “Delaware” tureen — a sculptural work of art from the heart of Staffordshire, England. Emerald-green floral transfers unfurl across creamy ironstone, bordered with scrolling lattice and touched by hand-applied gold.
The twin handles curve gracefully like ribbons, and the ornate lid finial adds an elegant flourish. Time has gently kissed the surface with fine crazing and soft gilded wear, giving this piece the soul of true Victorian romance.
Whether styled on a hutch, filled with blooms, or used as a table centerpiece, it’s a showpiece of English charm — refined, storied, and for the keeper.
